On April 2, 2026, Katsuaki Honma a.k.a. Mutsuhokkai, a member and manager of this room, passed away.

Mutsuhokkai made great efforts over many years in the management of the Isegahama stable and the training of its wrestlers. His warm personality and sincere attitude toward sumo will be remembered with deep respect and gratitude by many people involved.

Mutsuhokkai’s sincere attitude and personality toward sumo will continue to be passed on in the Isegahama stable.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our deep appreciation for the kindness and support we received from our patrons and all those involved before his death.
